JENNIFER EASTMAN, PRESIDENT

Jennifer Eastman is President & Eldercare Advisor with Assisted Living Locators of Southeastern Wisconsin. She is a proven business executive and natural entrepreneur with over 20 years of success. She takes pride in serving as a trusted, transparent communicator, approaching challenges with openness and positive energy. Jennifer uses her passion and experience to help seniors and their families navigate thru the often confusing and overwhelming process of finding senior care. As a leader, Jennifer’s focus is on building relationships. Other strengths of Jennifer’s include the ability to combine a strategic vision with solid project management skills and innovative, collaborative problem-solving.

This is also true of her active community involvement including leadership on non-profit boards; she is passionate about working together to make our world a better place for all. She also enjoys spending time with her family, travel, and is on a mission to do at least one hard thing each day.

CAROLYNN FRIESCH, PAST PRESIDENT


Carolynn Friesch is the Chief Executive Officer at United Way of Kenosha County. She was named to this role in May 2021. Carolynn previously worked for Carthage College as director of foundation and corporate relations. She has extensive professional experience in higher education and is skilled in relationship development and fundraising. Carolynn is an active community member in both Kenosha and Racine counties. She currently serves as president of TEMPO Racine, is a member of the Board of Directors for Kenosha Area Family & Aging Services, Inc. (KAFASI) and Kenosha County Food Bank, and is an ambassador for Greater Racine County. Carolynn holds a Master’s in Higher Education Leadership and Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. 

SHARON JOHNSON, TREASURER

Sharon Johnson is the CFO and Vice President of Finance & Administration at Gateway Technical College where she serves on the Executive Leadership Council. She graduated from the University of South Carolina and is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in Wisconsin and South Carolina. She has worked in the area of Finance and Accounting for over 30 years.

She serves as an Ex-Officio member of the Gateway Technical College Foundation’s Board and she also volunteers with United Way of Racine County as a member of the Community Investment Financial Team.

Sharon enjoys serving on initiatives that add value to her community and have a positive impact on those most in need. She has a passion for helping others achieve a better quality of life.

LYNDA KNUTSON, SECRETARY

Lynda received her undergrad degree is sports and fitness management from UW Parkside.  With 29 years in the fitness industry Lynda has been an instructor, personal trainer, fitness director and center director. She is now owner of LyndaFit.  Her current clientele includes cancer patients and survivors, Parkinson’s patients, and people who just want to live a healthier life, but can’t seem to find the time.  She empowers clients to be as healthy and strong as they can be so they can live life abundantly. 

LIZ POWELL, MEMBERSHIP CHAIR


Liz is the President and CEO of the Racine Community Foundation, and has served in this capacity for over ten years. Prior to joining the Foundation, Liz was an active volunteer in the Racine community. 

Liz served as a trustee of the Racine YWCA, chaired the steering committee for Youth as Resources, served in various capacities on the board of the Women’s Resource Center, was the president and chaired various committees of the Junior League of Racine, served as president and co-treasurer of the Cops ‘N Kids Reading Center Board, was president of the board of the Racine Country Club, and served as Grants Committee Chair and Board President of the Racine Community Foundation.  Liz was recognized by the Racine YWCA as a Woman of Distinction.

Prior to her volunteer career, Liz worked at Johnson Financial Group for 10 years, and is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin.

JESSICA SAFRANSKY SCHACHT, COMMUNICATIONS CHAIR


Jessica Safransky Schacht serves as the chief operating officer at United Way of Racine County (UWRC) in Racine, Wisconsin. She has been with the organization professionally for 16 years, but her connection to United Way began in the mid-1990s when she volunteered for a youth-as-grant makers program that received United Way funding. In 2007, she was hired to transition that same program from a funded partner to a United Way initiative. Since then, Jessica has held a number of roles within the organization and has contributed to the growth and development of UWRC’s impact programs and initiatives, community investment process, and strategic volunteer engagement opportunities. In her current role, she oversees the day-to-day work of the organization. She is committed to using data to reveal inequities and drive continuous improvement.

Jessica is a proud graduate of Racine Unified School District and Carthage College. She lives in Mount Pleasant with her husband Wayne and their children, Mason and Olivia. She serves as the treasurer of the Gilmore Fine Arts PTA and volunteers with UWRC's VITA program each tax season.
