Here's what you need to know.

The process begins when a member of TEMPO Racine nominates a woman leader whom they believe to be a good fit to the organization. The nomination form asks the member for information about the nominee's background, concluding with a personal letter of recommendation.

Once we receive the nomination, we will send a membership application to the nominee. We look at four criteria: professional accomplishment, educational attainment, community service and leadership, and additional awards/achievements/letters of recommendation. The original nomination letter is counted as a letter of recommendation, but additional letters are welcome. We will also ask for a resume upload to verify the criteria.

The application will then be reviewed by our membership committee, which meets quarterly (September, December, March, and June). If the committee recommends to accept the applicant, the application will go to the board for a vote. The applicant may either be accepted into membership or delayed for case-specific reasons. The membership term lasts for one year, beginning the day of acceptance, and yearly dues are payable upon acceptance and subsequent renewals.
